Group Health Insurance

As a full-time employee, you become eligible for coverage under our group health insurance and dental plans on the first day of the month following sixty days of service.  A portion of the premium is paid by the employee for employee coverage and/or dependent coverage. These rates charged to employees may change from time to time depending on IMC’s medical group experience.  Insurance booklets are available in Human Resources.  HR must be notified within 30 days of any qualifying event.

Life Insurance

IMC also provides its full-time employees with term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment benefits each equal to one times the annual salary.

Short/Long Term Disability

Eligible employees are provided short-term and long-term disability insurance paid for by IMC.  Employees are eligible the first of the month after 60 days of employment. Please contact Human Resources for details.

Wellness

One of the greatest opportunities for our employees is our Wellness programs. It is our mission at IMC to create a healthy culture for our employees.  Through the Wellness Program, the Wellness Team works to improve IMC’s productivity, employee morale and increase employee loyalty while at the same time reducing sick leave, worker’s compensation, injury experience and major health expenditures. This is accomplished when employees make better health and lifestyle choices.  By using available services such as health coaching, on-site activities, planned wellness events, brief training sessions on self-care, smart healthcare shopping and stress management, IMC’s Wellness Team works to build a more health-conscious culture within and outside of our work environment.

IMC has established an Employee Suggestion Program. Employees often suggest improvements for the factory that are incorporated into the system. IMC’s suggestions program is designed to:

  • Stimulate creativity and innovation
  • Motivate employees to make suggestions
  • Evaluate employee suggestions fairly
  • Reward and recognize meritorious suggestions

Suggestions should be:

  • Useful, practical and constructive
  • Of benefit to IMC and/or its employees
  • Concisely stated to identify a problem and recommend a solution

Tuition Reimbursement

In order to be eligible for our education reimbursement benefits, an employee must be a permanent full-time employee with one year of service, and a Tuition Reimbursement form must be filled out prior to taking the course.  Your supervisor, the General Manager, and the Human Resource Manager must all approve the relevancy of the course work and the individual’s need for such course work.

The course is relevant if it is related to an employee’s existing position at IMC, or related to the next higher level position in the organizational chart that an employee has the potential to fill. If an employee is required to pay non-resident or private school tuition, the reimbursement will be calculated on the usual and customary resident fees in a public institution.  Reimbursement will be made by IMC only after the course is completed.

Service Awards

We are proud of our long-term employees and recognize these individuals by presenting service awards for every five years of service.  These presentations are made annually.

Vacations

After 6 months of service, full-time employees will receive 5 days of vacation (Mon-Fri personnel) or 3 ½ days of vacation (41.25 hours for Shift Personnel).  All full-time employees are eligible for two weeks of paid vacation per year after one full year of continuous full-time employment with the company. After five years of continuous full-time employment, the amount of paid vacation per year is increased to three weeks.  After fifteen years of continuous full-time employment, the amount of paid vacation per year is increased to four weeks.  The vacation earned during any year of employment may be taken at any time during the following year, but cannot be accumulated beyond the next anniversary date.

Holidays

The following days are observed as paid holidays for full-time employees:  New Years Day, Easter or Good Friday for Monday thru Friday personnel, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Scheduled shift hours calculate into overtime.  Off shift (8 hours) is paid at straight time.  Work on holiday is double time for hours worked plus holiday pay.

Eligibility for holiday pay does require that the employee work the scheduled day before and the scheduled day after the holiday.  For this purpose, a vacation day is counted as a workday.
