Project Management

IMC retains a professional staff of Project Engineers that manage all aspects of the project - turn key. Project Engineers work closely with you to ensure that your project is developed and completed smoothly, timely and on budget.  We have developed a basic timeline for a typical project at IMC. IMC technical services also feature a Tool Sourcing Specialist. Tools may be built inside IMC, or sourced outside of IMC both domestically and/or from foreign suppliers. 

 

Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) 

At the beginning of each project, a cross-functional team made up of disciplines, including production, tool making, engineering, and purchasing convene to review the project and provide input to the Project Engineer. Several analysis tools are used to evaluate and prepare for the project, including:

  • Review all customer specifications
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Cross-functional project review meetings 
  • Initial tool design concepts
  • Pre-production gage and fixture planning
  • Training needs for any aspect of the project that is unique 
  • Pre-production Control Plans
  • Tool sourcing (domestic or foreign)

Status Reporting

We tailor our status reporting to the customer. Regardless of whether you have your own reporting format, or if you decide that the IMC standard project reporting format is acceptable to you, we find that frequent communications can prevent problems downstream.

We design the following types of molds:

  • Hot-Runner Systems
  • Master Mold Inserts
  • MUD Inserts
  • Conventional Runner Systems (with and without manifold systems)

  • Variety of Core Pull actions

 

Tool Warranty and Maintenance

Molds and tools designed and built by IMC are warranted for the life of your program.

Tool maintenance is included for the life of your project and is included in the initial tooling price.
